यह क्या है?
प्रश्नों का उपयोग जानकारी, पुष्टि, अनुमति या सहायता माँगने के लिए किया जाता है।
अंग्रेज़ी प्रश्नों में अक्सर कर्ता से पहले एक सहायक क्रिया (auxiliary verb) आती है।
सामान्य प्रश्न शब्दों में शामिल हैं:
- who
- what
- where
- when
- why
- which
- how

कब उपयोग करें
हाँ-या-नहीं प्रश्नों का उपयोग तब करें जब उत्तर हाँ या नहीं हो सकता है।

जब who या what कर्ता हो, तो do, does या did का उपयोग न करें।

जब प्रश्न शब्द कर्ता हो, तो सामान्य कर्ता-प्रश्न शब्द क्रम का उपयोग किया जाता है।
- Who knows the answer?
- What caused the problem?
कुछ प्रश्न अनौपचारिक बोलचाल में कथन जैसा रूप ले सकते हैं जब वक्ता आश्चर्यचकित हो या जानकारी की पुष्टि कर रहा हो।
- You finished already?
- She lives here?
ये रूप बातचीत में आम हैं लेकिन औपचारिक लेखन में कम उपयुक्त हैं।
