מה זה?

הזמן Past Simple משמש לדיבור על פעולות, אירועים ומצבים שהתחילו והסתיימו בעבר.

דוגמאות:

• I visited my friend yesterday.
• She worked from home last week.
• They went to the cinema.

פעלים רגילים בדרך כלל יוצרים את ה-Past Simple עם -ed.

• work → worked
• play → played
• clean → cleaned

לפעלים חריגים יש צורות עבר מיוחדות.

• go → went
• see → saw
• buy → bought
• have → had

מתי להשתמש

השתמש ב-Past Simple עבור:

• פעולות שהושלמו בעבר: I finished the report yesterday.
• סדרה של פעולות שהושלמו: She opened the door, walked inside, and sat down.
• הרגלים בעבר: We played outside every day.
• מצבים בעבר שאינם נכונים עוד: He lived in London for five years.
• פעולות בזמן מסוים בעבר: They arrived at 8 p.m.

ביטויי זמן נפוצים לעבר כוללים:

• yesterday
• last night
• last week
• two days ago
• in 2020
• when I was a child

משפטים חיוביים

עבור פעלים רגילים, השתמש ב:

נושא + פועל-ed

עבור פעלים חריגים, השתמש בצורת העבר המיוחדת.

צורת העבר זהה עבור כל נושא.

• I worked.
• He worked.
• They worked.

משפטי שלילה

השתמש ב:

נושא + did not + פועל בסיסי

הצורה הקצרה של did not היא didn’t.

• I did not call him.
• She didn’t go to work.
• They didn’t understand the question.

אחרי didn’t, השתמש בצורת הבסיס של הפועל.

שאלות

השתמש ב:

Did + נושא + פועל בסיסי?

• Did you call her?
• Did he finish the task?
• Did they arrive on time?

תשובות קצרות

• Did you see him? — Yes, I did.
• Did she call? — No, she didn’t.
• Did they leave? — Yes, they did.

יוצאים מן הכלל

הפועל to be אינו משתמש ב-did בשאלות ובשלילות ב-Past Simple.

• I was tired.
• They were at home.
• She wasn’t ready.
• Were you busy?

חלק מהפעלים הם חריגים ואינם משתמשים ב--ed.

• come → came
• write → wrote
• make → made
• find → found

יש ללמוד צורות חריגות בנפרד.

טעויות נפוצות

1. לא נכון: I goed to work yesterday. נכון: I went to work yesterday. הסבר: Go הוא פועל חריג. צורת העבר שלו היא went.

2. לא נכון: She didn’t went home. נכון: She didn’t go home. הסבר: השתמש בפועל הבסיסי אחרי didn’t.

3. לא נכון: Did you saw him? נכון: Did you see him? הסבר: השתמש בפועל הבסיסי אחרי did.

4. לא נכון: He work yesterday. נכון: He worked yesterday. הסבר: השתמש בצורת Past Simple לפעולה שהושלמה בעבר.

5. לא נכון: They was late. נכון: They were late. הסבר: השתמש ב-were עם they.

6. לא נכון: I didn’t called her. נכון: I didn’t call her. הסבר: אל תשתמש בצורת עבר אחרי didn’t.

7. לא נכון: Did she finished the task? נכון: Did she finish the task? הסבר: השתמש בצורת הבסיס אחרי did.

8. לא נכון: We studyed English yesterday. נכון: We studied English yesterday. הסבר: החלף עיצור + y ב-i לפני הוספת -ed.
