Intensifiers යනු adjective හෝ adverb එකක ප්රබලත්වය වෙනස් කරන වචන වේ.

ඒවාට විස්තරයක් ශක්තිමත් හෝ දුර්වල කළ හැක.

• very
• really
• so

• quite

• a bit

උදාහරණ:

• කාමරය very සීතලයි.
• ඇය really සෙමින් කතා කරයි.

භාවිතා කරන විට

Adjective හෝ adverb වලට පෙර intensifiers භාවිතා කරන්න.

විස්තරයක් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට very, really, සහ so භාවිතා කරන්න.

• very hot
• really interesting
• so quickly

යමක් අවශ්ය ප්රමාණයට වඩා වැඩි හෝ ගැටලුවක් ඇති කරන විට too භාවිතා කරන්න.

• too expensive
• too slowly

මධ්යම හෝ තරමක් ශක්තිමත් මට්ටමක් සඳහා quite භාවිතා කරන්න.

• quite busy
• quite carefully

විස්තරයක් දුර්වල කිරීමට a little හෝ a bit භාවිතා කරන්න.

• a little nervous
• a bit slowly

මූලික ව්යුහය:

subject + verb + intensifier + adjective

Adverb සමඟ, භාවිතා කරන්න:

subject + verb + intensifier + adverb

• She speaks very quietly.
• He drives too quickly.
• They work quite slowly.

ප්රතිඵලයක් පැහැදිලි කිරීමට too + adjective/adverb + to + verb භාවිතා කරන්න.

• The coffee is too hot to drink.
• He speaks too quickly to understand.

ප්රතිඵලයක් පැහැදිලි කිරීමට so + adjective/adverb + that භාවිතා කරන්න.

• The music was so loud that we left.
• She spoke so quietly that I could not hear her.

Very සාමාන්යයෙන් දැනටමත් අන්ත අර්ථයක් ඇති adjectives සමඟ භාවිතා නොකෙරේ.

very excellent වෙනුවට, excellent හෝ really excellent කියන්න.

very impossible වෙනුවට, impossible හෝ completely impossible කියන්න.

අවිධිමත් ඉංග්රීසියෙන්, really බොහෝ විට සාමාන්ය සහ අන්ත යන දෙකම සහිත adjectives සමඟ භාවිතා වේ.

1. වැරදි: The room is very much cold. නිවැරදි: The room is very cold. පැහැදිලි කිරීම: Adjective එකකට කෙලින්ම පෙර very භාවිතා කරන්න.

2. වැරදි: This bag is very heavy for me carry. නිවැරදි: This bag is too heavy for me to carry. පැහැදිලි කිරීම: යමක් ගැටලුවක් ඇති කරන විට too + adjective + to + verb භාවිතා කරන්න.

3. වැරදි: She speaks very slow. නිවැරදි: She speaks very slowly. පැහැදිලි කිරීම: යමෙකු කතා කරන ආකාරය විස්තර කිරීමට adverb භාවිතා කරන්න.

4. වැරදි: I am bit tired. නිවැරදි: I am a bit tired. පැහැදිලි කිරීම: bit පමණක් නොව a bit භාවිතා කරන්න.

5. වැරදි: The coffee is too very hot. නිවැරදි: The coffee is too hot. පැහැදිලි කිරීම: too සහ very සාමාන්යයෙන් එකට භාවිතා නොකරන්න.
