빈도부사

빈도 부사는 어떤 행동이 얼마나 자주 일어나는지를 나타냅니다.

흔한 빈도 부사에는 다음이 있습니다:

  • always — 항상
  • usually — 대부분의 경우
  • often — 자주
  • sometimes — 가끔
  • rarely — 거의 ~하지 않음
  • hardly ever — 거의 결코 ~하지 않음
  • never — 전혀 ~하지 않음

이 단어들은 정확한 수를 말하지 않고 빈도를 설명합니다.

언제 사용하는가

습관, 일상, 반복되는 행동에 대해 말할 때 빈도 부사를 사용합니다.

  • I usually drink coffee in the morning.
  • She often walks to work.
  • They never eat meat.

이들은 Present Simple과 함께 흔히 사용되는데, 이 시제는 규칙적인 행동과 습관을 나타내기 때문입니다.

더 정확한 빈도를 나타내는 표현도 있습니다:

  • every day
  • once a week
  • twice a month
  • three times a year

이 표현들은 보통 문장의 처음이나 끝에 옵니다.

구조

대부분의 동사와 함께

빈도 부사는 본동사 앞에 둡니다.

조동사와 조동사적 동사와 함께

빈도 부사는 첫 번째 조동사 또는 조동사적 동사 뒤에 둡니다.

주어 + 조동사 또는 조동사적 동사 + 부사 + 본동사

  • She can always help you.
  • I have never seen that film.
  • They do not usually work on weekends.
  • He will often call in the evening.

Sometimes, usually, and often

sometimes, usually, and often은 문장 맨 앞에 올 수도 있습니다.

  • Sometimes, I walk to work.
  • Usually, we eat dinner at home.
  • Often, she reads before bed.

sometimes는 문장 끝에도 올 수 있습니다.

  • I cook dinner sometimes.

Never

never는 이미 부정의 의미를 가지고 있습니다. not과 함께 사용하지 마세요.

  • I never smoke.
  • She is never rude.

예외

일부 빈도 표현은 일반적인 부사 위치를 따르지 않습니다.

every day, once a week, three times a month와 같은 표현은 보통 문장의 처음이나 끝에 옵니다.

  • I call my parents once a week.
  • Every morning, she goes for a walk.

부사 sometimes는 본동사 앞, 문장 맨 앞, 또는 문장 끝에 올 수 있습니다.

  • I sometimes work from home.
  • Sometimes, I work from home.
  • I work from home sometimes.

흔한 실수

  1. Incorrect: I go always to work by bus. Correct: I always go to work by bus. Explanation: 빈도 부사는 본동사 앞에 둡니다.

  2. Incorrect: She always is tired. Correct: She is always tired. Explanation: 빈도 부사는 동사 be 뒤에 둡니다.

  3. Incorrect: He does never eat breakfast. Correct: He never eats breakfast. Explanation: never는 이미 부정의 의미를 가지므로, does를 부정 조동사로 사용하지 마세요.
