무엇인가요?

명령문은 누군가에게 무엇을 하라고 또는 하지 말라고 말할 때 사용합니다.

긍정 명령문은 명령, 지시, 요청, 초대 또는 조언을 나타냅니다.

• Open the door.
• Please sit down.
• Take some water.

부정 명령문은 누군가에게 어떤 일을 하지 말라고 말합니다.

• Do not open the door.
• Don’t touch that.
• Don’t be late.

명령문은 일반적으로 주어를 포함하지 않습니다. 암묵적인 주어는 you입니다.

언제 사용하나요?

다음과 같은 경우에 명령문을 사용합니다:

• 명령: Stop talking.
• 지시: Turn left at the traffic lights.
• 요청: Please help me.
• 조언: Get some rest.
• 경고: Be careful.
• 초대: Come in.
• 금지: Don’t park here.

please를 사용하면 명령문을 더 공손하게 만들 수 있습니다.

• Please close the window.
• Wait here, please.

구조

긍정 명령문

동사의 기본형을 사용합니다.

동사는 한 사람에게 말할 때나 여러 사람에게 말할 때 동일합니다.

• Come here, Anna.
• Come here, everyone.

부정 명령문

동사의 기본형 앞에 do not 또는 don’t를 사용합니다.

do not은 don’t보다 더 격식 있습니다.

be 동사와 함께 쓰는 명령문

긍정 명령문에서는 be를 사용합니다.

• Be quiet.
• Be careful.

부정 명령문에서는 don’t be를 사용합니다.

• Don’t be rude.
• Don’t be afraid.

let’s와 함께 쓰는 명령문

let’s + 기본 동사는 함께 어떤 일을 하자고 제안할 때 사용합니다.

• Let’s go home.
• Let’s take a break.

부정 제안에는 let’s not + 기본 동사를 사용합니다.

• Let’s not argue.
• Let’s not wait too long.

예문

1. Close the window, please.
2. Don’t use your phone here.
3. Turn right after the bank.
4. Please do not leave your bag unattended.
5. Be careful on the stairs.
6. Don’t be late for the meeting.
7. Take this medicine with food.
8. Come and sit with us.
9. Let’s order some food.
10. Let’s not talk about work tonight.

예외

주어 you는 강조, 대조 또는 강한 감정을 나타내기 위해 때때로 포함됩니다.

• You stay here.
• You be careful.
• You take this box, and Mark can take the other one.

이런 사용은 강압적으로 들릴 수 있으므로 주의해서 사용해야 합니다.

명령문에서는 always와 never를 본동사 앞에 사용합니다.

• Always check the door.
• Never share your password.

do not never는 사용하지 마세요. 잘못된 이중 부정이 되기 때문입니다.

흔한 실수

1. 틀림: You close the door. 맞음: Close the door. 설명: 명령문은 일반적으로 주어 you를 포함하지 않습니다.

2. 틀림: To open the window. 맞음: Open the window. 설명: to 없이 기본 동사를 사용하세요.

3. 틀림: Don’t to touch that. 맞음: Don’t touch that. 설명: to 없이 don’t + 기본 동사를 사용하세요.

4. 틀림: Not open the door. 맞음: Don’t open the door. 설명: 부정 명령문을 만들 때는 do not 또는 don’t를 사용하세요.

5. 틀림: Don’t be touch the machine. 맞음: Don’t touch the machine. 설명: be는 형용사, 명사 또는 이와 유사한 설명 앞에서만 사용하세요.

6. 틀림: Be not noisy. 맞음: Don’t be noisy. 설명: be가 포함된 부정 명령문에는 don’t be를 사용하세요.

7. 틀림: Let’s to go home. 맞음: Let’s go home. 설명: let’s 뒤에는 to 없이 기본 동사를 사용하세요.
