Superlative adjectives کا استعمال ایک شخص، چیز، جگہ یا صورتِ حال کا کسی گروہ میں موجود باقی سب سے موازنہ کرنے کے لیے کیا جاتا ہے۔

یہ کسی صفت کی سب سے زیادہ یا سب سے کم حد ظاہر کرتی ہیں۔

انگریزی میں superlative adjectives عام طور پر definite article the کے ساتھ استعمال ہوتی ہیں۔

ساخت

بہت سی مختصر adjectives میں -est کا اضافہ کریں۔

Subject + be + the + adjective-est + noun/complement

• tall → the tallest

مثال:

اگر adjective کا اختتام -e پر ہو تو صرف -st کا اضافہ کریں۔

اگر مختصر adjective کا اختتام ایک vowel + ایک consonant پر ہو تو آخری consonant اکثر دگنا کر دیا جاتا ہے۔
