Superlative adjectives একটি গোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে একজন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, স্থান বা পরিস্থিতির সাথে বাকি সবকিছুর তুলনা করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
এগুলো একটি গুণের সর্বোচ্চ বা সর্বনিম্ন মাত্রা দেখায়।
ইংরেজিতে, superlative adjectives সাধারণত definite article the ব্যবহার করে।

- fast → the fastest
- beautiful → the most beautiful
- expensive → the most expensive

কখন ব্যবহার করবেন
একজন ব্যক্তি বা একটি বস্তুকে একটি সম্পূর্ণ গোষ্ঠীর সাথে তুলনা করার সময় superlative adjective ব্যবহার করুন।

- This is the cheapest phone in the store.

অনেক দীর্ঘ adjective-এর সাথে the most + adjective ব্যবহার করুন।

- This is the least difficult exercise.
- It is the least expensive option.
গঠন
অনেক ছোট adjective-এর ক্ষেত্রে -est যোগ করুন।
Subject + be + the + adjective-est + noun/complement
- tall → the tallest
- small → the smallest
- fast → the fastest
উদাহরণ:
Leo is the tallest student in the class.
যদি একটি adjective -e দিয়ে শেষ হয়, শুধু -st যোগ করুন।
- nice → the nicest
- large → the largest
যদি একটি ছোট adjective একটি vowel + একটি consonant দিয়ে শেষ হয়, শেষের consonant প্রায়ই দ্বিগুণ হয়।
- big → the biggest
- hot → the hottest
যদি একটি adjective consonant + -y দিয়ে শেষ হয়, y-কে i-তে পরিবর্তন করুন এবং -est যোগ করুন।
- happy → the happiest
- easy → the easiest
অনেক দীর্ঘ adjective-এর ক্ষেত্রে the most ব্যবহার করুন।

কিছু adjective-এর অনিয়মিত superlative রূপ আছে।
- good → the best

সাধারণত একই adjective-এর সাথে most এবং -est উভয়ই ব্যবহার করবেন না।
