এটা কী?

There is এবং there are ব্যবহার করা হয় বোঝাতে যে কিছু বিদ্যমান বা উপস্থিত আছে।

there is ব্যবহার করুন এর সাথে:

• একজন ব্যক্তি বা একটি জিনিস
• uncountable noun

there are ব্যবহার করুন এর সাথে:

• দুই বা ততোধিক ব্যক্তি বা জিনিস

উদাহরণ:

• There is a book on the table.
• There is some milk in the fridge.
• There are three chairs in the room.

there is এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হলো there’s।

• There’s a café near my house.

কখন ব্যবহার করবেন

there is এবং there are ব্যবহার করুন:

• নতুন তথ্য উপস্থাপন করতে
• স্থান বর্ণনা করতে
• কী উপলব্ধ তা বলতে
• কতজন ব্যক্তি বা কতগুলো জিনিস উপস্থিত তা বলতে
• ঘটনা বা সমস্যা সম্পর্কে কথা বলতে

• There is a bank next to the station.
• There are two bathrooms in the apartment.
• There is some food in the kitchen.
• There are many people outside.
• There is a problem with the computer.

গঠন

সঠিক বাক্য

ব্যবহার করুন:

there is + singular noun

• There is a shop nearby.
• There is one window in the room.

ব্যবহার করুন:

there is + uncountable noun

• There is some water in the bottle.
• There is a lot of traffic today.

ব্যবহার করুন:

there are + plural noun

• There are two shops nearby.
• There are several windows in the room.

নেতিবাচক বাক্য

ব্যবহার করুন:

there is not + singular বা uncountable noun

• There is not a pharmacy nearby.
• There is not much time.

সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হলো there isn’t।

ব্যবহার করুন:

there are not + plural noun

• There are not enough chairs.
• There are not any shops nearby.

সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হলো there aren’t।

some মূলত সঠিক বাক্যে ব্যবহার করুন।

• There is some bread.
• There are some apples.

any মূলত নেতিবাচক বাক্য এবং প্রশ্নে ব্যবহার করুন।

• There isn’t any bread.
• Are there any apples?

ব্যতিক্রম

অনানুষ্ঠানিক কথোপকথনে, there’s কখনও কখনও plural noun এর আগে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• There’s two people outside.

এটি কথোপকথনে সাধারণ, কিন্তু there are হলো প্রমিত রূপ।

• There are two people outside.

there is শব্দগুচ্ছটি it is এর মতো একই অর্থ বহন করে না।

• There is a café near the station. — A café exists there.
• It is near the station. — A known person or thing is near the station.

অতীতের জন্য there was এবং there were ব্যবহার করুন।

• There was a problem yesterday.
• There were many people at the event.

1. ভুল: There are a book on the table. সঠিক: There is a book on the table. ব্যাখ্যা: singular noun এর সাথে there is ব্যবহার করুন।

2. ভুল: There is two chairs in the room. সঠিক: There are two chairs in the room. ব্যাখ্যা: plural noun এর সাথে there are ব্যবহার করুন।

3. ভুল: There are some milk in the fridge. সঠিক: There is some milk in the fridge. ব্যাখ্যা: uncountable noun এর সাথে there is ব্যবহার করুন।
