I’d Like

Nó là gì?

I’d like là dạng viết tắt của I would like.

Nó được dùng để diễn tả mong muốn, đưa ra yêu cầu lịch sự, hoặc nói điều bạn muốn một cách lịch sự.

  • I’d like some coffee.
  • I’d like to speak to the manager.

Would like lịch sự hơn want.

  • I want some water. — trực tiếp
  • I’d like some water. — lịch sự

Khi nào dùng

Dùng I’d like để:

  • hỏi xin đồ ăn hoặc thức uống một cách lịch sự
  • yêu cầu một sản phẩm hoặc dịch vụ
  • nói điều bạn muốn làm
  • diễn tả mong muốn hoặc sở thích trong tương lai
  • mời ai đó dùng Would you like...?

Ví dụ:

  • I’d like a glass of water.
  • I’d like to book a room.
  • Would you like some tea?
  • Would you like to join us?

Cấu trúc

Với danh từ

Dùng would like + danh từ khi hỏi xin hoặc muốn một vật.

Chủ ngữ Would like Danh từ
I would like some coffee.
She would like a new phone.
We would like a table for two.

Với động từ

Dùng would like + to + động từ nguyên mẫu khi nói điều ai đó muốn làm.

Chủ ngữ Would like To + động từ
I would like to order.
He would like to leave early.
They would like to visit London.

Dạng phủ định

Dùng would not like hoặc wouldn’t like.

  • I wouldn’t like to work there.
  • She wouldn’t like that colour.

Ngoại lệ

Không dùng to trước danh từ.

  • Đúng: I’d like some water.
  • Sai: I’d like to some water.

Luôn dùng to trước động từ.

  • Đúng: I’d like to order.
  • Sai: I’d like order.

I like và I’d like có nghĩa khác nhau.

  • I like coffee. — Tôi nói chung thích cà phê.
  • I’d like coffee. — Tôi muốn cà phê ngay bây giờ hoặc trong tương lai.

Những lỗi thường gặp

  1. Sai: I like a coffee, please. Đúng: I’d like a coffee, please. Giải thích: Dùng I’d like cho yêu cầu lịch sự.

  2. Sai: I’d like order some food. Đúng: I’d like to order some food. Giải thích: Dùng to trước động từ sau would like.

  3. Sai: I’d like to some tea. Đúng: I’d like some tea. Giải thích: Không dùng to trước danh từ.

  4. Sai: I would likes a sandwich. Đúng: I would like a sandwich. Giải thích: Dùng dạng nguyên mẫu like sau would.

  5. Sai: Would you like come with us? Đúng: Would you like to come with us? Giải thích: Dùng to trước động từ sau would like.

  6. Sai: What do you would like? Đúng: What would you like? Giải thích: Không dùng do với would trong câu hỏi.

  7. Sai: I’d like going home. Đúng: I’d like to go home. Giải thích: Dùng to + động từ nguyên mẫu, không dùng dạng -ing.
