一般的な不可算名詞

不可算名詞は通常、複数形を持ちません。通常、単数動詞とともに使用されます。

いつ使うか

不可算名詞とともに some、much、a little、または a lot of を使用します。

例外

一部の名詞は、意味によって可算名詞または不可算名詞になることがあります。

  • coffee は、飲み物全般を意味する場合は不可算です:I drink coffee every morning.
  • a coffee は、1杯または1人前を意味します:We ordered two coffees.
  • chicken は、食べ物を意味する場合は不可算です:We ate chicken.
  • a chicken は、1羽の動物を意味します:They have five chickens.
  • paper は、材料を意味する場合は不可算です:I need some paper.
  • a paper は、文書、記事、または新聞を意味することがあります:She wrote a paper.

よくある間違い

  1. 間違い: I need an advice. 正しい: I need some advice. 説明: Advice は不可算なので、an を使用しないでください。

  2. 間違い: She gave me two advices. 正しい: She gave me two pieces of advice. 説明: Advice は通常、複数形を持ちません。

  3. 間違い: These informations are useful. 正しい: This information is useful. 説明: Information は不可算で、単数動詞を取ります。
