最上級の形容詞は、ある人、物、場所、または状況を、グループ内の他のすべてと比較するために使われます。

英語では、最上級の形容詞は通常、定冠詞 the を使います。

構造

多くの短い形容詞には -est を付けます。

主語 + be + the + 形容詞-est + 名詞/補語

• tall → the tallest
• small → the smallest
• fast → the fastest

例：

Leo is the tallest student in the class.

形容詞が -e で終わる場合は、-st だけを付けます。
