Cos'è?
I pronomi personali sono parole brevi usate al posto di nomi o sostantivi.
Aiutano a evitare di ripetere la stessa persona, animale, luogo o cosa.
L'inglese ha pronomi soggetto e pronomi oggetto.

I pronomi soggetto eseguono l'azione.
- She works here.
- They know my brother.
I pronomi oggetto ricevono l'azione o vengono dopo una preposizione.

Usa i pronomi soggetto prima di un verbo.
- I live in Canada.
- You look tired.
- He plays football.
- She works at a hospital.

Usa i pronomi oggetto dopo un verbo.

Uso di it
Usa it per:
- una cosa: I bought a phone. It is new.
- un animale quando il suo sesso è sconosciuto o non importante: The dog is outside. It is hungry.
- il tempo atmosferico: It is raining.
- il tempo: It is six o'clock.
- la distanza: It is five kilometres away.
Uso di they
Usa they per persone, animali e cose al plurale.
- My parents are here. They are waiting.
- The books are new. They are expensive.
They può anche riferirsi a una persona quando il suo genere è sconosciuto, non importante o non specificato.
- Someone left their phone. They may return for it.

Eccezioni
Il pronome I è sempre scritto con la lettera maiuscola.
- Corretto: Anna and I are friends.
- Scorretto: Anna and i are friends.
Usa you per una persona o più persone.
- You are my friend.
- You are all welcome.
Gli animali possono essere chiamati he o she quando il loro sesso è noto o quando sono trattati come individui.
- This is my dog, Max. He is very friendly.
Usa it per espressioni generali di tempo atmosferico, tempo e distanza, anche quando non sostituisce un sostantivo specifico.
- It is sunny.
- It is midnight.
- It is far from here.
