There is र there are प्रयोग गरिन्छ कुनै चीज अवस्थित छ वा उपस्थित छ भनी भन्नको लागि।

there is प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

• एक व्यक्ति वा चीजको लागि
• uncountable nouns (गणना नहुने संज्ञा) को लागि

there are प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

• दुई वा बढी व्यक्ति वा चीजहरूको लागि

उदाहरणहरू:

• There is a book on the table.
• There is some milk in the fridge.
• There are three chairs in the room.

there is को छोटो रूप there’s हो।

• There’s a café near my house.

कहिले प्रयोग गर्ने

there is र there are प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

• नयाँ जानकारी प्रस्तुत गर्न
• ठाउँहरू वर्णन गर्न
• के उपलब्ध छ भनी भन्न
• कति व्यक्ति वा चीजहरू उपस्थित छन् भनी भन्न
• घटना वा समस्याहरूको बारेमा कुरा गर्न

उदाहरणहरू:

• There is a bank next to the station.
• There are two bathrooms in the apartment.
• There is some food in the kitchen.
• There are many people outside.
• There is a problem with the computer.

संरचना

सकारात्मक वाक्यहरू

प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

there is + singular noun (एकवचन संज्ञा)

• There is a shop nearby.
• There is one window in the room.

प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

there is + uncountable noun (गणना नहुने संज्ञा)

• There is some water in the bottle.
• There is a lot of traffic today.

प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

there are + plural noun (बहुवचन संज्ञा)

• There are two shops nearby.
• There are several windows in the room.

नकारात्मक वाक्यहरू

प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

there is not + singular or uncountable noun (एकवचन वा गणना नहुने संज्ञा)

• There is not a pharmacy nearby.
• There is not much time.

छोटो रूप there isn’t हो।

प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

there are not + plural noun (बहुवचन संज्ञा)

• There are not enough chairs.
• There are not any shops nearby.

छोटो रूप there aren’t हो।

प्रश्नहरू

प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

Is there + singular or uncountable noun (एकवचन वा गणना नहुने संज्ञा)?

• Is there a bathroom here?
• Is there any coffee left?

प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्:

Are there + plural noun (बहुवचन संज्ञा)?

• Are there any questions?
• Are there two bedrooms?

छोटो उत्तरहरू

• Is there a bank nearby? — Yes, there is.
• Is there any milk? — No, there isn’t.
• Are there any tickets left? — Yes, there are.
• Are there many people? — No, there aren’t.

some र any को प्रयोग

some मुख्यतया सकारात्मक वाक्यहरूमा प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

• There is some bread.
• There are some apples.

any मुख्यतया नकारात्मक वाक्यहरू र प्रश्नहरूमा प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

• There isn’t any bread.
• Are there any apples?

अपवादहरू

अनौपचारिक कुराकानीमा, there’s कहिलेकाहीं plural noun (बहुवचन संज्ञा) अघि प्रयोग गरिन्छ।

• There’s two people outside.

यो कुराकानीमा सामान्य छ, तर there are नै मानक रूप हो।

• There are two people outside.

there is भन्ने वाक्यांश it is जस्तै अर्थ दिँदैन।

• There is a café near the station. — त्यहाँ एउटा क्याफे अवस्थित छ।
• It is near the station. — कुनै ज्ञात व्यक्ति वा चीज स्टेशनको नजिक छ।

विगतको लागि there was र there were प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

• There was a problem yesterday.
• There were many people at the event.

सामान्य गल्तीहरू

1. गलत: There are a book on the table. सही: There is a book on the table. व्याख्या: एकवचन संज्ञासँग there is प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

2. गलत: There is two chairs in the room. सही: There are two chairs in the room. व्याख्या: बहुवचन संज्ञासँग there are प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

3. गलत: There are some milk in the fridge. सही: There is some milk in the fridge. व्याख्या: गणना नहुने संज्ञासँग there is प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

4. गलत: Is there any shops nearby? सही: Are there any shops nearby? व्याख्या: बहुवचन संज्ञासँग are there प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

5. गलत: There isn’t no food. सही: There isn’t any food. व्याख्या: दोहोरो नकारात्मकबाट बच्नुहोस्। isn’t पछि any प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

6. गलत: Are there a bathroom here? सही: Is there a bathroom here? व्याख्या: एकवचन संज्ञासँग is there प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

7. गलत: It is a problem with the door. सही: There is a problem with the door. व्याख्या: अवस्थित कुनै चीज प्रस्तुत गर्न there is प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।

8. गलत: There have many people outside. सही: There are many people outside. व्याख्या: उपस्थित व्यक्ति वा चीजहरूको बारेमा कुरा गर्न there have होइन, there are प्रयोग गर्नुहोस्।
